Futuur is a social forecasting game built on the idea of a prediction market, a proven way of using the wisdom of the crowd to better estimate the likelihood of future events.
On Futuur players compete to predict future events across a broad range of topics, including politics, finance, sports, science, and entertainment.
Predictions are made by purchasing shares in an outcome, using Ooms (ø), Futuur’s in-game point system. Outcomes prices range from 0ø to 1ø and represent the percentage chance that that outcome occurs, according to the community of forecasters. If the predicted outcome occurs, the forecaster will win 1ø for each share purchased.
As the crowd makes its predictions the price changes, and reflects the best and most up-to-date collective estimate of the likelihood of that outcome occurring.
The goal of Futuur is to inform better decision making by providing more accurate forecasts across the greatest breadth and depth of topics. To this end, Futuur was designed to be fast, fun and social, with a simple user interface that makes forecasting easy for anybody.
Futuur allows forecasters to improve their prediction skills learning from real-world feedback, and to show off their abilities to the world. They can follow and engage with other forecasters, and compete on the leaderboards for forecasting cred and bragging rights.
